Welcome to The Cake Place. I am a home baker based in Dinas Powys in the Vale of Glamorgan. Since I launched in 2025, my most popular products have been Fruit Crumble Muffins, Celebration Cupcakes and Iced Biscuits (for party favours, events, seasons and more). I also offer lots of seasonal bakes.

About Me
I am a 30-something-year-old Mum of 2 and a bit, Gwen, Ellie and my lovely step-son Morgan.
🏴I live in Dinas Powys, having relocated from Gwynedd in north Wales 10 years ago! I am a Welsh speaker (although it is a bit rusty).
🫶 I am a Swiftie.
🍂 I am obsessed with all things Autumn and Pumpkin spice.
🎄 I love Christmas more than Buddy the Elf.
When I was 17 and working in a shop I bought this book from the staff room Book Club. Yes, it's a children's baking book. It became my bible, and every week, I'd choose a new recipe to make for pudding for Sunday dinner at my Nan and Grandads. At some point, I think I've made every recipe in this book.
Around the same time, I read a book called "Meet Me At The Cupcake Cafe" by Jenny Colgan, and it quickly became my dream to one day have my own little cake shop.
Nearly 20 years later. 1 degree, 100 jobs, 1 relocation, a wedding, 2 babies, 3 cats, a dog and 3 horses, I work nearly full time in marketing for a medical AI company - but still no cake shop 🙈
I've never stopped baking, although it took a backseat for a while because it's really hard to pipe buttercream with two feral goblins hanging around, but I never stopped loving it, and this year, after settling in to our first house that we own, I have decided it's now or never. So, while I build up to owning my own Cupcake Cafe, I applied for my Food Hygiene certificate, and off I go! Baking from home.
At the moment, it fits in around my job, swimming, 3 million dance classes, dog walks and 2 hour bedtimes 🤣 but who knows what the future holds 🔮 One day I will escape the chaos to my own little bakery #manifesting
